Urban Cookhouse features Birmingham's finest historic event venue, the Federal Reserve Grand Lobby. This flexible venue includes three private spaces customizable for events from 4 to 244. In addition to the Federal Reserve Grand Lobby, available spaces include our restaurant and the adjacent One Federal Place outdoor plaza featuring the Zillij Moroccan Fountain. These three spaces can be reserved individually or coordinated to host large events ranging from birthdays and parties to corporate events. This venue features ample parking, and valet parking options are available.

Birmingham's Federal Reserve Bank Building offers an elegant and refined space for any occasion. The Federal Reserve Bank Building is on the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places and is surrounded by downtown Birmingham's finest architecture. The building and the Grand Lobby were designed by A.J. Krebs of Warren, Knight, & Davis, a prominent early 20th-century architectural firm that helped Birmingham earn its nickname, The Magic City. Since opening its doors in 1924, this iconic space has preserved the Gatsby spirit of the 1920s. A complete renovation in 2016 added immaculate modern facilities while meticulously preserving the historical details that mark this world-renowned structure.

Private Outdoor Events At The One Federal Place Plaza
One Federal Place Plaza features the Zillij Moroccan Fountain, donated to the City of Birmingham by the Kingdom of Morocco during the city's "Salute to Morocco" cultural celebration in 1999. The fountain is a rectangular pool adorned in brightly colored hand-cut glazed mosaic tiles in the Moorish style. Nimrod Long & Associates used a wall of water and panels of greenery to incorporate the fountain into the One Federal Place Plaza, creating one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in downtown Birmingham.

Private Events in Urban Cookhouse Restaurant
Our downtown location on 5th Avenue North is available for private events during the evening and on weekends! Reserve our entire restaurant, including the One Federal Place Outdoor Plaza, to host friends, family, or coworkers.
When you book the Urban Cookhouse restaurant or patio, you will receive the privacy and exclusivity that comes with having the entire event space available to your party. Our team will provide everything you need, including setup, catering, and clean-up.

For weddings, the Federal Reserve Grand Lobby can be arranged for a stunning ceremony with a beautiful reception in the restaurant and outdoor plaza!
For your wedding ceremony, the Grand Lobby holds up to 207 seated guests, and our restaurant and patio can accommodate a total of 230 seated guests.
